2021 Virtual Summer Cohort Internship Program

Be a part of a transformational experience that goes beyond just another internship. Contribute to a national effort to share a diversity of women's voices from the past and present. Learn to use unique tools for civic engagement and representation in museum and other community spaces. Develop familiarity and experience with museum practice and American women's history.
Who? Undergraduate college students (rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors) and recent graduates from an undergraduate program (within 15 months of June 2021; those who graduated in Spring 2020 are eligible to apply) with a commitment to women's history
What? An eight-week virtual cohort internship experience, with a weekly $750 stipend
Where? Online with the Smithsonian Institution
When? June 14 – August 6, 2021
Why? Opportunity to explore various career paths, networks, leadership and mentorship experiences, and build practical professional skills

- Search under "Office of the Under Secretary for Museums and Culture" and select the "Because of Her Story Virtual Internship" from the drop-down menu.
