Archives Presents: Women's History Month Facebook Live
Description
In this Facebook Live video Smithsonian Institution Archives Staff Members, Historian Pamela Henson and History Program Assistant Lisa Fthenakis, highlight the tremendous work and accomplishments of groundbreaking women in science. Learn the stories of these women and how we are celebrating their work this Women's History Month. Margaret Collins was the first African American female entomologist, and a civil rights leader among her fellow black scientists. Devra Kleiman's groundbreaking work in conservation biology brought the golden lion tamarin back from virtual extinction, and later led to the first birth of birth of the National Zoo’s first ever panda cub to survive in captivity.
