- Ruth Colvin Starrett McGuire (1893-1950) was a plant pathologist known for her work on sugar cane diseases. She attended Indiana University (A.B., 1914; M.A., 1916) and worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Plant Industry from 1919 until at least 1948.
