Scope and Contents: This series contains material collected by marriage equality pioneers Michael Sabatino and Robert Voorheis as they pursued their quest for marriage equality, this series contains correspondence, photographs, ephemera, and news clippings related to their story as well as the overarching story of marriage equality. There are also materials related to their experience of being confronted over their marriage within their church. There are materials covering the long-term relationship of Gustavo Archilla and Elmer Lokkins who became prominent examples in the quest for marriage equality. There is a complete set of The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's "And Marriage for All" playing cards. This series also contains photographs, digital photographs, and copies of two documentaries. There is an autographed copy of Love Unites Us, a history of the freedom to marry movement.

Collection Restrictions: The collection is open for research use. Researchers must handle unprotected photographs with gloves. Researchers must use reference copies of audio-visual materials. When no reference copy exists, the Archives Center staff will produce reference copies on an "as needed" basis, as resources allow. Do not use original materials when available on reference video or audio tapes.
