- Scope and Contents
- Comprise of materials documenting the creative work of American, French, and Italian clothing designers dating from circa 1890-1970s. Materials include couture, ready-to-wear clothing, and costumes for film and theater productions. Fashion designers include Elsa Schiaparelli (1890-1973), Coco Chanel (1883-1971), Claire McCardell (1905-1958), and Paul Poiret (1879-1944). There are also materials representing time periods of fashion design including La Belle Époque (1890-1914). The materials are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the designer followed by collections representing the 1920s-1960s.
