Walcott (1850-1927, paleontologist and Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution from 1907 to 1927) or his wife Mary Vaux Walcott (1860-1940, a painter, naturalist and member of the federal Board of Indian Commissioners from 1927 to 1932), both of whom travelled extensively; inherited by Charles D. Walcott's daughter, Helena Breese Walcott Younger (1894-1965); subsequently inherited by Helen Walcott's husband Cole J. Younger (1894-1987); donated to MAI by Cole Younger and his second wife, Helen Pressprich Younger (1905-1992), in 1973.
