3rd Floor, East Wing, near entrance to Archives Center

On view are business records, photographs, and marketing materials related to the careers of 4 successful American businesswomen—Libby Glass industrial engineer Freda Diamond, Seventeen magazine advertising and marketing executive Estelle Ellis, Lord and Taylor Department Stores president Dorothy Shaver, and Tupperware House Parties president Brownie Wise. Each achieved a degree of visibility in her field enjoyed by few other women and each earned a comfortable living. At the same time, their careers typified the experience of many businesswomen during the past 50 years.
