When the Museum purchased the collection from the Estate of Robert S. Scurlock, it obtained all rights, including copyright. The earliest photographs in the collection are in the public domain because their term of copyright has expired. The Archives Center will control copyright and the use of the collection for reproduction purposes, which will be handled in accordance with its standard reproduction policy guidelines. Archives Center cost-recovery and use fees may apply when requesting reproductions.

Posed group of women in white uniforms and a badge with a number and the text, "Knott's Pentagon Cafeterias". The front row of women are seated, the back row stands. There is a set of double doors behind them with a clock above. To the left are two enclosed trolleys with cups on the top. Ink on negative: "5" and "(5)". Ink on envelope: caption, "75 - 8 x 10 D.W." and "...5/7/64 #5 -1 #8 -3 #15 -1 #17 -3 #20 -3 #21 -2". "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "9" edge imprint. Retouching on arms and faces with New Coccine.
Subseries Restrictions
Collection is open for research. Gloves must be worn when handling unprotected photographs and negatives. Special arrangements required to view negatives due to cold storage. Using negatives requires a three hour waiting period. Contact the Archives Center at 202-633-3270.
