When the Museum purchased the collection from the Estate of Robert S. Scurlock, it obtained all rights, including copyright. The earliest photographs in the collection are in the public domain because their term of copyright has expired. The Archives Center will control copyright and the use of the collection for reproduction purposes, which will be handled in accordance with its standard reproduction policy guidelines. Scope and Contents

Interior of sales office for Blue Ribbon Motor Coach Co. Three female employees are behind a counter. One is looking at a piece of paper helping a male customer, another is looking in a filing cabinets, whilst the third is seated with a telelphone on the counter in front of her. There are four posters on the wall behind them for the Blue Ribbon Motor Coach Co., Southern Dairies Ice Cream, a soft drink and a moving company. There are more employees and customers seated towards the back of the store. To the left at the back of the store a person is seating in a reclining chair, possibly a dentist's chair. Ink on negative: caption. "DEFENDER SAFETY BASE" edge imprint. No Scurlock number.

Subseries Restrictions

Collection is open for research. Gloves must be worn when handling unprotected photographs and negatives. Special arrangements required to view negatives due to cold storage. Using negatives requires a three hour waiting period. Contact the Archives Center at 202-633-3270.
